About Kathleen (Kathy) McCann
Kathleen McCann was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, and has spent her entire legal career practicing law in Vancouver, Washington. She attended the University of Puget Sound and Portland State University as an undergraduate and the University of Washington as a graduate student. She earned her Juris Doctor from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, and has practiced law in Clark County, Washington, since graduation.
Kathleen’s practice focuses on representing individuals and families in matters involving minor and adult guardianship and conservatorship, adoption, and probate. She works with clients facing significant, sometimes deeply personal, legal issues and strives to provide practical, thoughtful solutions tailored to each client’s circumstances.
Kathleen believes effective representation begins with understanding her clients’ goals and keeping them well informed throughout the legal process. She provides vigorous representation in court proceedings and in settlement negotiations. When settlement serves her client’s interests and preferences, she works to achieve the best possible resolution while remaining prepared to advocate firmly in court when necessary.
Kathleen has been active in the legal community throughout her career. Her professional involvement has included the Washington State Bar Association’s Family Law Section, Elder Law Section, the Clark County Bar Association’s Guardianship and Probate Section, and the Clark County Bar Association Family Law Section. She has also served on the Washington State Family Law Executive Council.
